Notecard Sets for Gifting
Hello Everyone....
MIA & here ONLY by the next year after my last post.... I know... It gets difficult at times to create as well as journal it.... cuz life has you in between.... 😀
Had to fly back to Bangalore in the month of December after a long stay in Ranchi which had almost made me feel CAGED... With the freedom that Bangalore caters to me with, life gets difficult in Ranchi when prolonged... However, after I was back I did my singing as much as I could & traveled a lil around too.... It's luxury 😎
Time to go back to Ranchi & before I did not knowing of my next visit, I wanted to contribute my art too at SURTarang, a karaoke group where I participate, where they celebrate birthdays that fell between their events.... I love gifting & more so when it is related to my passion, my paper craft, it's an honor I would indulge & entertain myself with....
Initially I thought of making A NOTE CARD per person celebrating his or her birthday... but later felt so poor cuz as it is a note card is a mini greeting card measuring 3X3 inches & giving one each did not seem anything at all... Hence decided would make a set of 3 for the least & gift it held in a box which they can further use to gift their near & dear ones, celebrating his/her birthday...
So here it is....
Since I always seek a lil more out of my supplies, I decided to open lil circular windows on the face of the card...
1. Used my circle die, the 2nd larger one from an old set of nestabilities from Spellbinders to open a window....
2. saved all those die cuts for future use....
3. Now used the 3rd larger one on few thick paper boards saved from waste to be upcycled/recycled
4. Used these circle die cuts to cover the window of my note cards....
5. But before doing that, I pasted the stacked scraps of pattern papers from past to be used someday... & this was the day this was the opportunity....
6. Long strips of scraps were pasted & I hand cut a couple of them & the rest ran it back through the die
7. Gave me the circles I had in mind for my windows...
8. Pasted the circles on the note card windows... few from the inside & few from the outside
Had stamped HAPPY BIRTHDAY sentiment from itsy bitsy, on a leftover white strip & hand cut them... Used a paint brush to shape it to a banner & pasted it down on the note cards for birthday sentiment, keeping the pop up intact...
PS : As a crafter I believe in making the best out of the waste & keeping or leaving the waste to the minimal as much as possible.... If you are wasting than using then your creativity has challenged boundaries without discipline... THIS IS MY PERSONAL BELIEF!
And since am here in Bangalore I do not have all my craft paraphernalia.... Without the MemoryKeeper Punchboard I found it a challenge to make these lil envelopes... Thankfully, few videos on you tube did help me attain this too.... However, I had to make my tweaks to the measurements provided there, to keep my wastage to the minimal....
PS : Will make a video soon about this project & ATTACH a link here with details to help you through in any project of yours
ENVELOPE MEASUREMENTS FOR A 3X3 NOTECARD :
Size Of The Paper - 4 1/4" X 6 1/2" inches
Score on the shorter side of the Paper - 1/2" + 1/2" on either side
Score on the longer side of the Paper - 2" + 5 1/8"
Then cut & trim on the sides & paste it down to shape it to an envelope.... (A VIDEO TO WHICH WOULD SOON BE SHARED)
Without few supplies everything needs to be hand made only... & indeed that's the real creativity here.... cuz nothing lasts more than you... & you should forever be able to limit your dependency on materialistic things to help you LIVE & COPE with life....
Before you end your project, you need to add a sentiment on the inside of the card & outside of the envelopes to give the feel of the birthday wish from heart.... I used an old birthday sentiment from Fiskars on the inside & used an old birthday wish from Stampin' Up on the envelope...
Finally finished it off with a sticker that refers to the creator of the project... which is me... 😍
The project on the whole ends ONLY with the respective boxes to hold them in for gifting.... Will attempt to make a video to the same before posting it in my next journaling....
